By enrolling in the Electrical Construction and Maintenance program, you will learn the necessary competencies to gain entry-level employment in your chosen career path. Residential, commercial and industrial electricity are a few of the careers that students can train for. The program is designed to help you learn basic electricity, motor controls, power distribution, proper techniques used by wiremen, and National Electrical Code. You will learn all types of wire splicing, and control wiring for data applications. You will also learn the basics of conduit bending.

Nature of the Program: Although electricians working environment varies depending on the career path they choose, electrical work is very challenging and satisfying! Electrical work hours vary depending on the employer and many electrical program students continue on to own their own company. The students start the program learning residential wiring and proceed on to commercial and industrial electricity. Advanced areas of our trade include motor control, plc’s, network cabling and fiber optics.
Completion of the Program: Upon the completion of the program the students should have completed the necessary competencies to gain entry-level employment in their chosen career path. Many graduates gain employment with local contractors, manufactures or join the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union. Trade schools and college are also options for the program completer with many graduates continuing on to an electrical engineering program.
