Mrs. Janet Yontas
Director of Practical Nursing
Janet Yontas earned a BSN degree from Marywood College and a Master’s Degree in Nursing and Education from the University of Phoenix. She has worked in a variety of settings throughout her nursing career, which include Oncology, Medical/Surgical, Hospice, and Women’s Health. Mrs. Yontas also works with FA Davis as a writer and reviewer, where she is able to incorporate her knowledge and understanding of nursing care and NCLEX preparation into nursing educational books and materials. She is a BLS certified instructor through the American Heart Association and a certified instructor for the Stop The Bleed Program through Geisinger. She began her career at CTCLC as a part-time faculty clinical instructor in the specialties of Obstetrics, Pediatrics, and Medical/Surgical clinical. Mrs. Yontas joined the full-time faculty staff in 2012, educating the students in both the classroom and clinical setting by taking on the specialty of Maternal-Family-Child Health and continuing in Oncology education. Her students benefit from the newly implemented High-Fidelity Obstetric, Pediatric, and Infant Simulation department. In addition, students rotate to varied educational clinical facilities to improve their skills and critical thinking.
Mrs. Yontas has taken on the role of Director of the Practical Nursing Department here at CTCLC. She is excited about the opportunity and looks forward to guiding students toward the rewarding profession of Nursing.
