The Electrical Construction Technology Program prepares individuals to apply the technical knowledge and skills necessary to install, operate, maintain, and repair residential, commercial, and industrial electrical systems. Students will work with DC and AC motors, controls, electrical distribution panels, circuit diagrams and use of electrical codes, blueprint reading, safety, and first aid practices. Telecommunication, wind, and solar trainers are also utilized. Mathematics, science, and reading are essential for employment in the electrical trade.
Employers often hire students who complete this program and usually start them at a more advanced level than those without this training. The use of books, catalogs, and electronic resources are an important component of instruction.
