Overview: The Robotics and Automation program provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform the tasks of an entry-level technician in the ever-changing manufacturing industry. Students will learn safety precautions and demonstrate shop safety in their daily tasks. Instruction will include automated & control systems, power types and uses, problem-solving, and the terminology used in the automated manufacturing industry.
Emphasis will be placed on electrical/electronics theory and applications, power usage integration in automated systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, engineering graphics, power, and hand tools usage. Students will be trained in approaches to problem-solving automated systems, the integration of green energy initiatives, ethics in engineering, and how to work in a team environment. Integrating computers and various manufacturing programs used in the manufacturing processes will also be covered. Students will prepare themselves for the industry by learning how to write a resume and create a digital portfolio.
