Overview: The Print Production program prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to plan, prepare and execute commercial and industrial print products using mechanical, electronic, and digital graphic and printing equipment. Students learn page layout, offset lithographic press work and bindery, as well as flexography, screen printing, and digital printing. There is emphasis is on typographical layout and design using computer graphics, offset preparation and operation, paper cutting, ink and color preparation, screen printing production, digital printing, engraving, and use of industry standard software. Also, included in the course are cost/inventory control, job planning, troubleshooting, repair of equipment and estimating.
