Mr. John Moran

Smart Systems and Engineering Technology Instructor

John Moran, an accomplished educator in Computer Networking Infrastructure since 2016, is an alumnus of Riverside High School and the Drafting and Design Technology program at CTC (Class of 2007). He holds a bachelor's degree in Information Technology from Keystone College (2011), a Career and Technical Instructional I certification from Temple University (2017), and a certification as a CISCO Academy Instructor (2019). John also earned his PDE Gifted Student Endorsement Certificate from Seneca Highlands IU in partnership with Neumann University (2021). Notably, he has completed his Master's in Education, specializing in Workforce Education and Development, from Penn State University.

Prior to his teaching career, John gained diverse experience in the IT sector. He worked as a Technical Analyst at First National Community Bank, Enrollment Data & Communications Manager at Keystone College, and IT Professional at Abington Heights School District. He has imparted his knowledge as a Lab Instructor at Johnson College, teaching Network Architectures, Principles, and Protocols.

Beyond his primary role, John is an adjunct instructor at PSU Scranton, where he teaches Cyberdefense & Networking, and at Johnson College, where he teaches Micro-computing courses. He is a passionate advocate for Career and Technical Education (CTE), serving on numerous statewide CTE curriculum committees and co-founding a professional learning network for CTE Computer educators. As an experienced presenter, he frequently speaks on gamification at conferences and enjoys role-playing games like Dungeons and Dragons. John's dedication to education and student success is evident in his extensive qualifications and teaching endeavors.
