Josiah Guzman, a senior from Mid Valley High School, has been nominated October Student of the Month by his Automotive Instructor, Mr. Joe Granteed. “Josiah is a great asset to the automotive program. He is always willing to help other students when they are having difficulties. He is very attuned to the Automotive Industry and is willing to take on new challenges”, stated Mr. Granteed.  While in the Automotive program, Josiah obtained his OSHA10, ASE 609 Refrigerant Recovery, Valvoline certification, Alldata Information Specialist certification, Safety certification, and numerous Ford Motor Company certifications. Josiah will be heading out on Co-Op this fall to work hands-on in the automotive industry. 

Josiah is the son of Michelle Malaret. Josiah strives to maintain high grades and was on the Honor roll and High Honor roll his junior year.” I came to CTC to further my automotive education. Mainly to work on personal vehicles and help someone in need”, stated Josiah. 

Josiah was chosen to compete at SkillsUSA this year. He currently works for Gibbons Ford as a Service Writer. In his spare time, he volunteers at the Throop Civic Center. 

Upon graduation, Josiah plans to pursue a degree in Mechanical/ Automotive Engineering.

Emma Jo Burrasca, a junior from Forest City Regional High School, has been nominated for October Student of the Month by her Cosmetology Instructor, Ms. Christine Menichini. “Emma has really embraced attending CTC, she has perfect attendance, hands in all of her work, actively participates in class, and has great test grades. She tries 110% while practicing her technical skills and is willing to help out her classmates”, stated Ms. Menichini. While in the Cosmetology program, Emma Jo obtained her OSHA10, Barbicide Covid19, and Barbicide certificate. She has participated in a variety of community service events with the Cosmetology class. 

Emma Jo is the daughter of Bobbi Jo and Joseph Burrasca. At Forest City Regional, she is a member of the National Honor Society, President of the Drama club, and a member of “Including You!”, which is an Inclusion and Diversity club. “I chose to come to CTC to learn about Cosmetology and earn my license. I also came to meet new people and find others who share the same love for makeup as I do”, stated Emma.

Emma also holds multiple jobs in the community. She loves using makeup and does face painting for children.

Olivia Warholic, a junior from Lakeland High School, has been nominated October Student of the Month by her Cosmetology Instructor, Mrs. Kristina Petrauskas. “Olivia is the definition of a team player. She will go above and beyond to help not only students but educators and paraeducators as well. She takes her school work very seriously and takes pride in being selected as Salon Manager. Olivia is a hard worker that won’t stop until she has completed the task at hand. In the Cosmetology area, we call her the “hype girl”, as she constantly builds everyone’s confidence. She will go out of the way to compliment and they are always sincere. Above all, Olivia is truly a kind person. She navigates life with compassion, respect for others, and a sense of professionalism rarely seen in young hair stylists”, stated Mrs. Petrauskas. While in the cosmetology program, Olivia obtained her OSHA10 certificate. 

Olivia is the daughter of B. Anne and Thomas Warholic. "I chose to come to CTC because I took a tour and was very interested in cosmetology. I heard a lot about the school and I think it was a great decision to come to CTC because it is setting me up for my future, which is really important to me", stated Olivia. 

At CTC, Olivia is a Student Ambassador and does the afternoon announcements. Last year, she went to the SkillsUSA district competition for a Job Interview/ Resume. At Lakeland, Olivia is a member of the National Honor Society and a member of the Track & Field team for the past 6 years, where she throws discus. She is also involved in the FCCLA club, the PBIS Team, and the Student Council. In her spare time, she volunteers at her church and is signed up for several more cosmetology community service events. 

Upon graduation, Olivia plans to get her cosmetology state license and work as a licensed cosmetologist.
