Amirah Burrell, a senior from West Scranton HS, has been nominated March Student of the Month by her Medical Assistant Instructor, Mrs. Jennifer Savo. “Amirah has shown the most improvement this school year. However, I have seen Amirah grow into a strong and intelligent leader. She is determined, resilient, and kind to her peers. The first to volunteer, the first to clean up, the first to look after others. I would be proud to work alongside Amirah in the healthcare field”, stated Mrs. Savo. While in the Medical Assistant program, Amirah obtained her CPR, OSHA10, and Mandated Reporting certifications. She will be eligible to sit for her senior CCMA exam.
Amirah is the daughter of Colice Walker. “I chose CTC to experience something different in high school. I always wanted to work with kids in the future, so Health Occupations was the way to go, and I fell in love with the class”, stated Amirah

Elias Rios, a sophomore West Scranton student has been nominated March Student of the Month by his Child Development Instructor, Mrs. Kristine Lenceski. “His grades and conduct are phenomenal. He maintains a perfect 100% in my class. He is kind, very respectful, hard-working, an excellent role model, and displays integrity. He is without doubt what a CTC Student of the Month exemplifies and is held to standards in the highest regard. I wish I had a classroom filled with Elias’s. While in the program, he obtained his OSHA 10, is at the top of the class, and is eager to join CTC clubs in the future when he is allowed to join, such as student ambassador, SkillsUSA.
