October Students of the Month

October Students of the Month

For the month of October, Welding Instructor, Kyle Linko nominated three CTCLC students for Student of the Month due to their positive attitude towards giving back and offering up their time to helping out. Forest City students Lindsey Evans, and Kyle Bonham, both welding students and Holy Cross student Ariyana Linko, Health Occupations, donated a combined total of almost 400 hours of service over the summer to Mr. Linko’s Weld-A-Saurus camp. The camp was a huge success and was a massive hit due to the help of these students! Kyle, Lindsey, and Ariyana ran the day to day of the summer camp making sure each lab was set up properly, clean, safe, and inviting to the camp participants.

“These kids are leaders and inspiration to all here at the CTCLC. Kyle and Lindsey have numerous industry certifications and are working on more, but they are sacrificing their time to help others here in the Welding program to become better. Ariyana is only a sophomore and has already applied to become a Student Ambassador, focusing on more community service, and has always participated in the CTCLC Get “Pinked” event. People think we are the ones educating these kids, but they are the ones who are educating others on how to be part of a solution”, stated Kyle Linko, Welding Instructor.

When it comes to hobbies and jobs, these students are busy. Kyle races dirt track on the weekend is a volunteer firefighter and works on his family farm. Lindsey works at a hometown restaurant and is on the Forest City cheer squad for basketball. Ariyana cheers for the Holy Cross basketball team and takes part in the Drama Club and Mock Trial team at her homeschool. Lindsey and Ariyana are CTCLC Student Ambassadors.

After graduation, Kyle plans to attend Penn College and become a Welding Engineer. Lindsey is thinking about attending college for Diesel. Ariyana is looking to attend college but not sure of what to study yet.
