Mr. Patrick McLane

Illustration and Design

Mr. Patrick McLane brings a wealth of real-world experience and academic expertise to the Illustration and Design program at The Career Technology Center of Lackawanna County, where he has proudly taught since 2015. His students benefit from his extensive background in the creative industries, as well as his passion for inspiring the next generation of artists and designers.

Before entering education, Mr. McLane built a successful career in the greeting card industry and served as a designer and creative director for several advertising agencies and a multimedia studio. These professional experiences continue to inform his teaching, providing students with a strong foundation in both the artistic and commercial aspects of the design world.

Mr. McLane holds a Master of Science in Instructional Technology (MSIT) with a focus on Instructional Design, as well as a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Illustration. In addition to his role at CTC, he is also a faculty member at Marywood University, where he teaches in both the undergraduate art program and the MFA program.

Mr. McLane is dedicated to helping students develop their creative voice while building the practical skills needed for careers in illustration, graphic design, and multimedia. His classroom is a space where creativity, discipline, and innovation come together to prepare students for success in the evolving world of visual communication.
